About The Event
Are you a writer interested in making money off your craft? Are you a published writer wondering why your book(s) are not moving off the shelf? Or do you plan to publish your work from late 2021 and beyond?
As a bestselling author who has published over five books and counting, worked with other bestsellers in the field – fiction and non-fiction – and have spent the last two years sharing my knowledge on Youtube, I understand and have experienced the struggle of having a great book, publishing, and marketing it.
This class is for everyone, newbies just dropping their fingers onto their laptops and established authors.
Whether you’re starting a short story or novel, your first question should always be the same—why am I choosing to begin here?
Over the course of 3 months, we’ll explore that first question and others that often bog down writers at the beginning of every new project.
What information do you want your reader to know immediately? What are you okay with them knowing later? How do you find your voice? How do you build up trust so they’re not just okay waiting, but happy and willing to follow your voice anywhere? How much backstory is too much?
These are some questions we’ll ask about your first lines and first pages as we address – point of view, character, plot structure, pacing, and voice during this workshop.
I have created the Mash it Up Class to help you in the journey and process of publishing your work -blogs, books, and more!
This is also an opportunity for you to ask me and guest authors – any questions you have as it relates to writing and publishing – even if it’s as basic as ‘Why should I write a book?’ (please drop them in the form below).
I’ll be sharing with you the process and joys of writing and publishing a book, as well as why and how you should consider doing the same.
Although this event is FREE, there are only 12 slots available for each class and it’s a log-in early kinda attendance. The benefit of attending a live class is having the opportunity to ask pressing questions – I can’t stress this enough.
The class will follow the workshop model (delegates of all levels of experience are welcome and no prior workshop experience is required). There will be short readings and several in-class prompts along with *two submissions of original work (if submitting novel excerpts, it should be from the beginning.) *By the end of the course, you will have detailed feedback from both your classmates and myself, and you’ll be equipped with the tools to begin future projects with confidence.
*This feature is only available to PAID students, check the FAQ below for more information.
